Starting a Journey One Step at a Time

The secret to any success in a person’s life lies in that person’s daily routine. I had read that quote years ago, and I one hundred percent believe that what we do each day contributes to our successes tomorrow. Think about it this way; do that something today that your future self will thank you for. Perhaps you have been feeling discouraged about your current circumstances and you do not know what to do to make a change. Take some time to review your daily routine, and you will find your answers.
I had a recent chat with one of my customers who lives in the United States of America, and my customer told me that he was feeling quite discouraged about all of the difficulties happening in his local area. My customer told me that he often feels depressed and that his feelings of depression interfere with his ability to concentrate on changing his work situation. I reminded my customer that change starts from within. We have to change the way that we think about things before we change the way that we do things.
It can be so easy to fall into a habit or a routine that we become comfortable with. However, comfort is the enemy of progress. We need to do uncomfortable things in order to grow and develop into the person who we are each meant to become. Doing something different each day will help you to get different results. I truly don’t understand how people can say that they are bored because there is ALWAYS something that can be done; a new recipe to try, a new book to read, a new picture to take, a new relationship to start, a bad habit to break….the possibilities for change are endless!
I know how difficult it can be to make small changes, but I also realize that making small changes will eventually lead to larger and better changes. There is a feeling of accomplishment and confidence that comes when you change your life. Of course, Rome wasn’t built in a day, it was built over time. And a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Each day that you work on the things that you know in your heart that you need to do, you will be closer being where you need to be. And make no mistake; you need to be where you need to be and your life will be chaotic if you do not take the steps that only you can take.
If you need help with figuring out your life vision and path then you need to spend at least 30 minutes each day solely focusing on your life, your thoughts, and what types of things would make you happiest. Focus on what you actually want to have, not on what you actually have. For instance, I was involved with a man who I had hoped would change his ways and share my vision and goals. I had that man in my life, but he did not want the type of relationship that I wanted. I have since adjusted my vision and focus on what type of relationship I actually want to have, and if I cannot have that type of relationship with him then I am okay with that as long as I can build my ideal relationship with a different man who wants what I want. I had to let go of what I wanted in order to get what I actually want, because that other guy sure wasn’t giving it to me!
Do you need to make adjustments? You may want to stay in the same place, have relationships with the same people, work at the same job, and expect to live a different life but change will not happen unless you enforce it. What you do today will impact your tomorrow. You have more control over your situation than you think, and sometimes acknowledging the power that you have is the first step towards making the changes that you need to make and living differently. So, what are you waiting for? New changes in your life await! Start small, and from there, build momentum and change.
