A few weeks ago, I traveled to Florida to visit friends who had recently moved there, and I had a wonderful time being in the Sunshine State. It had been a few years since I had last been in Florida, and it had been two and half years since I had last traveled via airplane. I had missed being in the skies and staring at cloud formations up-close. The state of Florida is very diverse and has many charms, and one of my favourite things about the state is that it is where Walt Disney World is located. I had been to Disney World years ago, and I was excited about going back. I’ve been fascinated by the Walt Disney World company for a long time, and I doubt that my fascination with the business will ever wane. To me, Walter Disney is one of the greatest entrepreneurs of all time. I absolutely love that Walt Disney’s work started with a simple cartoon of the Mickey Mouse character that he created, and he used that creation to launch other characters and business opportunities for millions of people, and the legacy continues today. I hope that it continues forever.
What would this world be like without entrepreneurs? There would be no Disney World, Disneyland Park, Disney Media Companies, and many people would be without the careers that they have built through The Walt Disney Company. This world is a better place because of people who took initiative to build their own dreams instead of ignoring their dreams to build other peoples’ dreams. Working for someone else is perfectly honourable, and many people do it and have no regrets about working as employees. Entrepreneurship is not a path that every person is meant to take, and quite frankly, not everyone should pursue entrepreneurship if they do not have the willingness to be responsible for representing a brand. However, entrepreneurship is a very lucrative career choice and it is a choice that more school students needs to be aware of.
Each day during my vacation in Florida a few weeks ago, I thought about how grateful I was that I had taken a chance on me. I know for certain that the reason why I was able to take my recent vacation is because of the home-based income that I earn from my three dating websites that I own as well as from working as a voice actress. I often ask myself what would my life be like if I had not taken a leap of faith and just plain gotten started on those journeys. Because of my decision to take a chance on me, I have choices that are not available to people who lack vision and faith. Yes, entrepreneurship requires having belief in yourself and in your ability to start something from scratch and turn nothing into something that will impact your life in amazing ways that nothing else could.
Leaving a lasting legacy of joy, support, and productivity is possible for all who want the responsibility of doing so. You can become an entrepreneur at any moment that you decide to become one. All that you need to do is take a chance on you. How proud will you feel when you create choices for yourself that only you could do? Carve out a place in this world for your vision of what you want to offer society. Perhaps your entrepreneurship journey will start with you beginning a rideshare service, tutoring high school students, baking cookies and selling them throughout your neighbourhood, or writing blogs. Never underestimate the impact that your actions have in relation to your local community and even the global community. What you start today could be something that empowers other individuals for many tomorrows.
