When it comes to showing love, you have all of the tools that you need. The month of February is Love Month, and because of that, love is on everyone’s minds. You probably see lots of people wearing red clothing and buying Valentine’s Day cards, heart-shaped chocolates, and flowers. Everyone is craving a deep connection with someone who appreciates them, and we are living in a world where many people want their voices to be heard and supported. Social media is all about sharing and showing appreciation. In addition to being used for sharing information, social media is also a great tool for meeting people. So, whether you are single and looking for a new relationship, or, you feel like you want to build new friendships, here are ways that you can show social media love to others and make connections:
Use the Like Button
That Like button is a beautiful thing because it gives someone else a sense of validation when they receive your likes on their posts. Your likes could spark a conversation and lead to strong connections. Best of all, your social media likes do not cost you a single thing.
Share and Repost
Like many of you, I get my news from multiple sources, and social media websites are definitely sources of news for me. As a business owner, I so very much appreciate when other people on social media share my posts with their followers because those shares mean more exposure for my business. I also enjoy reading news and interesting information on other people’s social media accounts, and I never hesitate to share posts that I think my followers would appreciate. Sharing, re-tweeting, and re-posting good information is showing love all around. Do those shares as much as possible!
Commenting
Some people want to be left alone on social media; they just want to post their content and leave it at that. However, many people have social media accounts because they want to create engagement with other people. Commenting on another person’s social media post can open up the doors to communication and discussion. Aim to leave positive comments only. You don’t want to become embroiled in a social media war with someone over negative comments that you post to their accounts. But, if you can’t write anything nice about someone’s post, then don’t leave a comment at all.
Testimonials
The biggest compliment that you can give to a business is to refer other people to that business. I personally love giving testimonials to businesses that I regularly do business with. Once again, giving a testimonial is free and don’t cost you a thing. And in addition, some business owners are so appreciative for your glowing testimonials that they will offer you a discount on your next product or service with them.
Share Career Opportunities
I can’t think of one person who does not want tasty food, a clean place to live, and clothing on a daily basis. Earning an income is a way to provide for ourselves, and your social media account can be a way of letting other people know about existing career opportunities. It may be surprising to you, but not everyone considers the many different career options that are out there. When you post content on your social media about real-life people who are happily working in their dream careers, or people who made huge career and life changes, that content can serve as motivation for people who need encouragement to make their own life changes.
You have the power to use your social media presence for good. Through your social media posts, you can build connections, learn information that helps you grow as a person, and set good examples for other people. If you have a business, be sure to post your website link to all of your social media account pages so that people who are following you can learn more about your journey. Who knows? You might actually work with some of your social media connections in the near or distant future.
