The Benefits of Living a Disciplined Life

I’ve recently been reflecting on and absorbing the meaning of this quote: “We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.” Making the decision to become more disciplined in how you approach your personal life and professional life will change you completely. I know from my own experience that success comes when discipline is involved. There are many times when I had failed to achieve what I wanted to gain because I wasn’t disciplined enough. When I changed my approach and I became more focused and disciplined, I achieved my goals.
Living a life that you can be proud of is a blessing. We all experience setbacks and disappointments, but if we put practice into becoming disciplined, we will see the kind of results that we want to see. Someone who wants to learn how to play a piano will never be able to master the skill of becoming a proficient piano player unless he disciplines himself to practice playing piano on a regular basis. Playing the piano only 30 minutes within a 7 day period will not lead to much success. Practicing 30 minutes each day within a 7 day period should lead to improvement. Regardless of the task at hand, approaching it from a position of being disciplined will lead to positive results.
Are you trying to get back into dating again? Do you want to try your hand at singing in public at karaoke events? Does the idea of earning a college degree excite you? If you want to achieve your goals, you’re going to need to put discipline into taking the steps necessary to get closer to what you want. Discipline means doing more than just dreaming or hoping for something. You’ll need to encourage yourself to committing and accomplishing small and big tasks so that you can have the rewards that you want.
There are so many different seasons in life, and nothing stays the same forever. However, if you develop a spirit of discipline, you will develop the bounce back ability to handle the challenges that you will encounter through your life. Developing a disciplined approach might feel foreign and uncomfortable at first, but eventually, you will be adjust to a new routine of being dedicated to completing whatever is necessary to meet your goals. The pain of discipline is temporary, but many regrets last a lifetime. Keep that in mind when you weigh the pros and cons of being a disciplined individual.
